I know we'd all LOVE to meditate for hours, journal, take a bath or just stay in bed when we're stressed, but we can't always do that because... life.

So, this April and Stress Awareness Month (and always!), I'm sharing a simple, but powerful technique you can use to spring clean stress from your energy field in less than a minute.

Stress lowers our vibration which affects our health, happiness, presence and ability to manifest in the world.

But it doesn’t have to.

This episode is just a gentle reminder to take anytime you can to love yourself, even in the smallest of ways. And sometimes, all it takes is a deep, cleansing breath.

The One-Minute Breath to Reduce Stress

Stand or sit, however you can be easy in your body - on the floor, or in a chair with your feet planted firmly on the ground.

Take a full breath in and exhale completely.

Breathe in for 8 strokes through your nose. Breathe out 1 stroke through your mouth.

When you round your lips into an 'O' shape and release all the air out, this 'cannonball' breath clears any stress from your body and mind.

Like you’d opened all of the doors and windows in your house to air out.

Breathe in for 8 strokes through your nose. Breathe out for 1 through your mouth.

If you’re new to breathwork (or it just feels better in your body), you can modify the count to 4 strokes in rather than 8. Or, rather than sipping in air, take a long, smooth breath in for a count of 8.

Continue with this until you feel some relief.

If you're on the go and need a quick fix, three rounds can be all you need to feel a shift and maintain calm vibes.

Let this practice remind you that the breath is the boss.

Once you feel better, let it go so your body's just breathing for you.

Enjoy that feeling. It’s like the moment you light your favourite scented soy candle after you’ve just cleaned your house!

Make sure you put this one in your spiritual toolkit - so you can take it everywhere with you to reduce stress and raise your vibration, whenever you need to throughout your day.
