Be The Light

Even though this time of year is all about peace, comfort and joy, we often feel overwhelmed during the holidays. That’s why, in episode #22 of The Prana + Patchouli Podcast, I’m leading you through a Light Bath Meditation which is designed to replenish you and restore your inner light. If you need energy clearing, healing and nourishment in December, or any other time of year, this is for you.

Start in a cosy seat on the floor, in a chair or you can even lie down. Close your eyes. Take a big inhale through your nose and an even longer exhale through your mouth. Turn your palms up towards the sky, opening up to all the energy that is around you and within you, guiding you and supporting you. Be here and breathe. With every breath in, you are nourished and every breath out, you feel lighter as you let go of anything that’s no longer serving you. 

Now imagine a bright light at the crown of your head. Like a waterfall, this light pours over your face, your shoulders, your arms and your hands, your belly and your chest, your pelvis, legs and feet. Feel your whole body relaxing as it washes over you. Clearing you. Holding and nurturing you. Calming you. Melting away any stress or tension. Breathe deeply and as you inhale, feel the light recharging, restoring, renewing and replenishing every single cell of your body. As you exhale, let yourself be completely immersed in the healing warmth, so it becomes your whole experience. Your mind may wander. But don’t resist that. Just let it happen and even as it happens, submerge yourself even deeper into the bath of light. 

You can stay here as long as you like. If you want to move on, start to deepen your breath and feel your awareness rising to the surface. Take one last big breath in and release and when you’re ready, float your eyes open to the room. 

I hope this meditation gave you a moment to breathe and receive. This is a potent time as we’re on the cusp of a brand new year. Honour the light within you and don’t let it burn out.
